Aug 5, will be the neighborhood bounded by bounded by Willow, Meridian, Minnesota, Hwy 87.
What is the Summer Evening Walking Game?
Warm summer nights make for a perfect opportunity to stroll the neighborhood and enjoy the great outdoors.
In order to promote good health, getting to know your neighbors, and the art of walking in general, I started a game.
The game works like this:
The summer evening walking event will take place between 6:30PM and 8:00PM.
I will notify the public the day before that a certain block by block area of District 6 will be the focus of the event.
During this time, I will drive or bike around the designated area looking for summer evening walkers, and provide small incentives to those participating. Participants must walk with a partner (2 legs or 4 legs), and wear GREEN shirts (a GREEN bow or other creative attire will be acceptable for dogs). Prize awards might consist of a cold drink, a movie pass, or a frozen yogurt gift certificate.
Several District 6 neighborhoods have already participated including: Cory, Canoas Gardens, Cahill Park, College Park, Garden Alameda, Newhall, St Leo’s Rubino Circle and a portion of the Rose Garden.
Future dates and locations will be announced on my Councilmember Pierluigi Oliverio Facebook page and District 6 website.
